Meet the Founder

Our Founder: Verma Smith, M.Ed BCBA

Verma Smith is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 25 years of experience servicing children in educational, behavioral, and social capacities. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree In Sociology from Roosevelt University in 1995 before earning a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Governors State University in 2000. Afterward, she furthered her studies in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she received direct training from ABA legendary Dr. Jose Martinez-Diaz, the founder of Florida Tech School of Behavior Analysis and senior consultant for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Verma Smith became a teacher in 1998 and has taught children of various developmental and academic levels in grades Pre-K through 7th grade. While teaching, she has implemented behavior modification strategies to improve student behavior and promote more positive and socially significant behavioral patterns. Thus, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the owner and operator of
ABC Pathways, LLC.

As the owner and BCBA, she oversees the overall operation of ABC Pathways. She monitors the planning, designing, and implementation of behavior intervention plans to improve or change problematic behaviors. She supports clients and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, determining the cause of behavior and assessments, teaching new socially significant behavior, reducing inappropriate behavior, and teaching everyday skills clients need to function in their environment and
interact with people.
